I do this sometimes on ollie 180's. I think you may just have to much weight on your front foot. Keep the weight back.

If depends on how you fall.
If you are falling to the heelside edge (on your back) you may be landing too flat on the board, or worse, on your heels. The nose of the board should be pointing away from the boat at about a 30-45 degree angle as you ride away on your toeside edge. Keep your chest out over your toes.
If you are falling over your toeside edge, You may not be spinning the board afull 180. Do not stop spinning with the nose towards the boat. your goal is to land on a toeside edge, chest over your toes and riding towards the shore. Do not look at the boat or the wake, look towards the shore and land so you are edging towards where you are looking.
If you are getting pulled over the nose of the board, You may be letting the handle float out away from your body, landing flat and getting pulled over. Use both hands on the handle in the air, and place it on your new lead hip.

Good luck!

I would say try them toe side as well, that way you land heel side where youll be more comfortable, even if it is switch. Make sure you wait till your in the air before you give a slight pull on the handle (or simply move it out to the side) to start your rotation. Dont worry if you still have trouble clearing the wake toeside, as the 180 makes it easier to get to the other side.

work on your switch riding, make sure you have good enough balance there to land a 180
