2 questions:

1: My friend needs a new board. he thinks that they way the Byerly boards is are shapped is a little sketchy (with those grooves and all). i rode byerly before that look and i havent since... What is the purpose of these grooves and what do they do??

2: How many people have ever had a Boa System pop (the steel wire) on them??

the byerly is one of the most controversial boards i beleive. everyone either loves the new shape, or loves the 03 and older shape. the crook fins cause you to get on rail(edge) like no other. it has great pop. its a good board.

ive heard of many people's boa system breaking before, ive never owned any boa bindings.

I am the proud owner of an 05 byerly and love it. Me and my mom both ride it and it is an amazing ride. Its just super aggressive so i go learn tricks on my premier and then do them on the byerly. There is def less room for error with that board but its sick. Ive ridden the byerly boots and have the temets and have never had a single problem with the Boa system. I love it and its a super snug fit. Overall i would def recomend both the board and boots

I've ridden the '04 Byerly (Same model as the '05) and to me It felt a really tight ride with a slower release off the wake, but I liked the overall feel of it.

I ride the Temets (With the BOA system) and I've only had it pop when I would tighten it too far down and cut out on my toes (Putting pressure on the BOA) and It would pop to loosen up, But I've never had it pop to the point where it wouldn't tighten back up or anything.
