is it illegal to ride in the dark or past a certain time

In Tennessee it is illegal to ride after "sunset". No jetskies, tubes, skis, wakeboards, etc. It is similar to that in most states on public lakes and rivers.

yeah it for sure its illegal... but if u have a tower with some lights , go 4 it man... i mean my vest and probably like 23 things is illegal with my boat but who cares?

ya its illegal at lake shasta, for riding after sunset. if your a tourist then they'll nail you even if its questionable. they've let us off though.

you can have a rider or tuber behind the boat from 30 minutes before sunrise thru 30 minutes after sunset at my like.

speaking of private lakes, i happen to live on one, and nobody rides at night. but gas is easy to deal with, ive got 6 five gallon cans, and i dont burn more than that in a day. the downside is bulkheads, cause the wakes never die down, so when you have a jetski out there it feels like 10. its not that expensive either, houses start at 250,000

same here, live on a private lake and gas isnt bad (cept the price!), but we do have the occasional drunk neighboors goin out cruizen at 30mph around 11 or 12 oclock at night Laughing

but they are the only things you gotta look out for. But ya its definatly expensive here for lakefront property, prolly couldnt get anything under 300,000 now, and thats just for 1/2 acre property Rolling Eyes

wakeboardertj - I went up to lake shasta during the summer and rode. Awesome place man. we had a house bout for a week, i loved it. we are going back next july. is that the same place, or near Bullards Bar that i saw in Butter Effect? It looks very similar

Some of the most fun I've ever had on a wakeboard was riding at midnight during a full moon. Water was soooooo calm, no wind at all. It was intense!

BTW - It may be illegal to ride at night, but at most of the lakes around here, the rangers go home shortly after sunset (except on weekends), so you can get away with pretty much anything - riding in no wake/no ski zones, riding doubles, surfing without a vest, etc.

yeah weve done it where the rider dock starts and hes holding a roman candle and one of those strike anywhere matches in his mouth.... it was sweet

I got a $144 ticket last year for pulling a wakeboarder after the 30 minutes past sunset. So take the risk if you want, but I won't do it again.

We rode at night last weekend with the full moon. Best night of the season! In MN you can ride an hour past sunset and you don't have to wear a jacket, although I do recomend it Rolling Eyes

Thanks, Its an 05 avalanche C4 all ballast tanks full, a fly high fat sac on top of the port side tank, a side sac under the port side seats and the other side sac on top of the starboard tank. plus we had 4 people sitting on the port side.

The only problem about riding at night in Canada... it doesn't fall under the Small Vessels Act.... It falls under the Criminal Code. So if you are caught and charged... it is a Criminal Conviction... that sucks!

Fast351, no thats stupid. Rideing at night isnt smart but its really fun, if you know what your doing and have lights you will be fine.

lol me and my bro pull each other wich is illeagal already cuzz im 14 and hes 12 and then we were riding at night one time so not the best idea just get outta there 30 mins before sunset and ull be all right but if u wanna ride u might be able to get away with riding with lights on ur boat seriously doubt it though so watch for the po po man

k so here in MN its legal to ride up to an hour after sunset but not many ppl do it so its perfect just hit the water a about 7:30 ride till 9 or so
