whats the best way to approach a wake to jump it. when i try i go far out and then cut in real sharp but that doesnt work because i get jerked and then when i hit the wake its all choppy. i need to know should i cut in a lil less until it doesnt jerk me. and as for the wake how do you get it to be smooth so its not breaking or anything

what kind of boat do you have?

if you have an i/o try and trim up the bow so that the wake has no white wash where you are riding.

a slow progressive edge and standing tall will pop you up.

he means don't cut it sharp but still move towards the wake at a moderate speed and to get pop pull the handle down to your waist before you hit the wake.

as for the choppy wake, you can adjust your trim differently thats what I did.

if only it was that easy. EVERY forum i am a part of has the same questions asked OVER and OVER. no matter how many times they are answered they still pop up. sometimes the threads will be stacked 3 high asking the same thing.

thats why theres a noobie section. if you cant take the repetitiveness, then stay out of the section.

fuk_all_this@hotmail.com, STFU... Dont come across with a better than thou attitude, when all your post have sucked balls. http://forums.wakeboarder.com/search.php?search_author=fuk_all_this%40hotmail.com Good information just oozes from your posts. Rolling Eyes

To answer your question pnw1n, cut out normally and get as far out as possible... When you feel as though the boat is pulling you back in, start a slow edge into the wake. Over time, your cut should build up more and more speed. I am sure you know about the progressive edge though. When you hit the wake, make sure you are still edging as hard as possible and stand tall, but dont flatten the board out. It will take a few trys to get used to, but you will get it. Some things you should try are edge in with no intention of jumping the wake and just edge through hard and keep your knees bent. This will get you the feel of staying on your edge. Keep the rope low at all times. Just think, when the handle is high, (around your chest or head), the boat is going to pull your head first and cause you not to land on your hs edge so you are going to fall. You want the boat to pull you, but from a low point. A zero stretch line would work wonders too. As far as your wake, is it washed out all over? Trimming up helps, and adding weight equally around the boat but mainly to the bow. If the wake isnt washed out all over, and looks crisp around 50 - 60 feet back, let the line out while at your speed range, and tie it off where you want it to go. Sorry about the long post, but I hope it helps.
