Sacs for a dummy

I have a 2000 Caravelle 20' I/O, 102" wide bow rider we use for both family boating and wakeboarding. We added a tower.

I need help getting the boat to plane at a lower speed. Currently I have to hit at least 21 mph to get the bow down and the wake less wide. I am less concerned with the shape of the wake than how wide it is before planing.

I added a planing fin to the top of the outdrive long ago, and I have the right 4-blade prop. I can blast anyone out of the water quickly with the 5.7 L engine.

If I can keep three adults in the bow for extra weight, that helps get the boat to plane faster from the hole shot, but it seems to still require 21+ mph to get the wake narrow enough for WTW jumping. Some of my younger riders would be more aggressive in learning if they did not fall so hard. Thay are asking to be able to ride in 19-20 mph speed range. Is that reasonable?

Would installing a fat sac system w/ pump in/out features totalling about 600 lbs. in the front (bow portion) of my center floor ski locker help? Or what about adding two smaller sacks in the storage lockers under the seats in the bow area?

Any specific brand recommendations?

Adding weight up front will definitely help get the boat on plane quicker. As for the width of the wake, you may want to try shortening the rope. The wake width is proportional to the speed and width of your hull. Once you're on plane, I don't think adding weight anywhere will make a significant difference in the width of the wake.

I would recommend using one sac in the ski locker instead of two in the storage lockers. That way you only have to fill and empty one sac. Less parts, means less can go wrong.

There are tons of good brands out there. The Fly High Pro X series sacs from Barefoot International are supposed to be real thick and sturdy. You may want to check those out.

CB3, This doesn't help accomplish what you want but, I ride behind a 20' Four Winns Horizon I/O and I ride at 21 mph even with a relatively short rope, anything less and the the wake is white wash or rediculously wide. It's simply a downside to I/O's I don't think you will be able to overcome it.

madtekniques- I have a 20.5 foot cobalt i/o. And the wake is really nice perfect width perfect size. I really love it. Dont forget to trim up though. Thats on of the main things. As for sacs buy some from ebay. Really cheap and reliable. You can overcome it. Some people even beg for a wider wake but you dot have too.

CB3, When we started riding behind my I/O we rode at a shorter length so we could go W2W. I have added weight up front and I can keep her on plane pretty easy. Now I ride around 21-22mph @ 70' but I do pull some people around 19mph with a shorter line.

Dump the I/O and get an Imboard
Thats my advice, Just dont get a Ski Supreme unless you like to Slalom ski

Wakeboarder166, Wow your a great help dip sh*t. He didn't need that. Maybe he cant afford an Inboard kind of like me. HAHA you also look pretty cute on the ski . Just stfu and help. O ya and to help you CB3, add about a 600 lb sac to the front and maybe 350 in the back. This will make your wake amazing. Like I said before trim up and your boat's wake will dominate.
