Depends on the boat. The general rule is to let the rope out to where the wake begins to crest, then pull it in a couple feet. Obviously if you have a problem going wake to wake at that length, shorten it up. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

when learning a new trick you want to be in closer to the boat to avoid bad wrecks. as you get more confident and consistent landing the trick at that line length let it out a couple of feet at a time _________________ There's nothing like a good old faceplant to wake you up in the morning! |

the crest is where the wake begins to white wash or foam. About 5 feet in front of that is usually the best part of the wake. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?
