for those of you who have seen johnnys video for hurt, what do you think of it? To me in a way, it seems as if he knows he is going to go soon. ( which i hope he doesnt) And he made that song/video as a farwell. But also it was a video so maybe he was just doing some ACTING, who knows.

Check out Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson VH1 Story Tellers Cd. Soem great stuff and hsitory on the songs. The song that talks about Willie and Waylon is by Waylon and is called Luckenbach Texas. There are so many great songs by all the Highwaymen.

I used to date this girl in college and we went to one of her family's picnics in Nashville and while I was walking through her house meeting everyone, sat Johnny Cash in her living room. I was like, "Man, that is Johnny Cash" and she said that it was no big deal that he would come over all the time. It is pretty cool who you see out in about in Nashville just on a daily basis.

But, to the songs:
Folsom Prison Blues (Live Version at the prison)
I walk the line

Rock in my book1

Aubs- There is no way you could convince me that Lifehouse is a good band, let alone tell me they have good lyrics. I might accept Alkaline Trio, but not Lifehouse.

Turk are you talking about the live songs he played for San Quinton Prison??

Folsom Prison Blues, Tennesee Stud, and Dirty Old Egg Sucking Dog (i think thats the name). Ring of Fire is good too. The only country I can handle is the Man In Black.

I'm a Cash fan from way back, but I gotta say that his remake of "Rusty Cage" was the stuff, and Hurt is right up there too.

I love the "hurt" video, and song. It's kind of hard to watch, but you also can't turn it off once you start watching. The lyrics go perfectly with the video. It is very haunting and extremely powerful, if you "get" it.

Folsom Prison Blues and A Boy Named Sue are my favorites but his cover of NIN's Hurt is just amazing and depressing at the same time beauce the stage he is in his life.
