| Within an hour of Markham, your best bet would be the Kawartha Lakes region. I'm not familiar with the area, but there's tons of lakes there, so take your pick I suppose. |

Drive faster? Don't know what else I can tell you.
Lake Scugog or Lake Simcoe are the closest big lakes. |

man i run these lakes in the KL....scumgog(sugog), its usually calm in the bay right at the little town. its really shallow and theres muskies in there, and its Bubb Rubbing w00t ass smelly. sturgeon is good, you can find butter by the emily park bridge, in the channel going to lindsay, or depending on the wind, on the fenelon side or bobcaygeon side.
i got gas money is anyone wants to give me a pull.
simcoe is a pretty big lake for around here. its usual.ly got some chop
aceofdymondz, i buy my rc car shiz from unionville, down in like some little chinese store.
ontrider, scugog is just like a way to get to port perry. and yea there is alot of fishing boats and its really shallow so theres never really and big boats throwing big rollers. but yea, there are alot of fishing boats there.\
Alter Ego, where is bala? i got gas money |

hey russell21!
i got your e-mail and here's my reply...
well i ride at a friends cottage there on pigeon. it's my favorite lake to ride on in the area because it's really smooth a lot of the time and not very busy. even in rain you can find a smooth spot. very beautiful lake too. so on a scale of 1 to 10 for lakes in our area i'd give it 10! it's about an hour and a half to get there (bobcaygeon, ontario). i'm not so sure about places to launch but i can ask my friend. i know there's a resort near his cottage too. i'll ask him more questions for you next weekend sometime. also, i'm sure i could send you some pics. i don't have any right at the moment but i'll take some next weekend. i'm having a b-day party up there so i'll get tons of wakeboarding pics for you. also sturgeon lake (where my cottage is/next lake over from pigeon) is really nice during the week it's not busy at all and it's not too bad on weekends but pigeon is normally smoother. there's a launch area by center point landing which is your best choice, also somerset trailer park (kelly's bay, where my cottage is, next bay east from crane bay), birch point marina (www.birchpointmarina.com) and im sure there's others. if you wanna check out my lake there's an event next wednesday called "free pass" where Buckeye Marine and my friend Jay (who's cottage on Pigeon where i board) will take you for a free wakeboard run behind the Marina's Mastercraft X2 at Birch Point Marina. for more infor check out http://www.buckeyemarine.com/pages/page_51.asp .
hope this helps answer all your questions!

| Do any of you guys ride in Haliburton? I was looking for info on some of the lakes there because I hear some of them the water level drops up/down like 10 feet every year. Are there certain lakes that are worse than others for this? |

We sometimes ride on simcoe, but you are hard pressed to find it like butter unless you hit it early in the AM or just before dusk.
Wasaga Beach is also good if the water is calm, you can also wakeboard on the river there, launching in the Provicial park area 1. Dont try to wakeboard on the river on weekends though, the traffic will kill the ride. _________________ SURF WAKE - Its What We Do! |

Hey Guys and Gals
I live in Oshawa and i'm actually looking for some people to ride with, mostly during the week and the occasional weekend. I normally ride by haliburton but with work it's hard to get up to the cottage.
Ontrider As for lakes up that way, your best bet is to find a lake that is fairly popular in the region because then the gov has installed a permanent damb. My lake is outside oh haliburton, wolf (billings) lake, it has a damb, and is small so 90% of the time it's calm
I was wondering if any of you guys would like to or be able to ride during the week, i'm off at 2:30 everyday, i'm also off on sunday, i will always toss the driver money for gas and i have my boat liscence so i can drive, i'm told i drive fairly well too, i'm not a great rider i know a few inverts and 3's but not consistently, and i'm really looking for riders who will have fun but also push me, i want to take my riding to the next level |

| ontrider, I dont ride in Haliburton, but Ive been there for some contests. I went to Rock the Wake closer to the beginning of the summer, and I went to a couple throughout the summer as well. At the last Xcup the water was realllly low ... im not sure how many feet lower, but the shoreline dropped like crazy |

| cletis, I looked into it a bit, and I think the lakes drop throughout the summer because they use a lot of those lakes in Haliburton as reservoirs to keep the trent-severn system water levels from dropping too much. |
