what kinda camera you use for footage?

im thinking about getting a good camcorder and start trying to make some vids. so what cams do yous use, and do you \have any words of advice or anything? and also, do you who go capture in a tube, like 10 feet infront of he rider, do you use like a protective case? i saw a sony one at wakestock and i was wondering if its a good idea.

DunDunDun, YES, if you are going to shoot from a tube it is a MUST that you invest in a waterproof housing. For camcorders they run at least $400, that is for one designed for the specific camera. As far as camcorders go, stick with a Mini DV, it is the smallest and best IMO (unless you wanna go spend 2 grand on a GL2, or XR-2...but they still use practically the same tapes).

Oh, and just for the sake of being a jackass...wrong forum.

Basically, just use any camera that has a dv output/input.....

actually, the smaller cams suck for wakeboarding...every little bump the boat hits, shows a lot more in the cam. if you're buying a cam to shoot vid, buy a bigger minidv cam.
