|
|
| We're just getting into wakeboarding. My 15 year-old son wears a size 15-16 shoe. Are there any bindings that would fit his feet? Is there anyone who makes custom bindings? Also, what size and type wake board would you suggest for him? His weight is around 230. He has the desire and strength to wakeboard. Now we just need the gear. |

| um try an XXL in some bindings..i think hyperlite makes XXL, but im not completely sure. he would probably ride the biggest board there is, which is about a 143. |

hyperlite offers an XXL in their pro level bindings. a friend of mine has a size 15 and fit into the XXL byerly boot. LF also offers an XXL in their Alpha bindings. i would check those out since they are only ~$200 because you'll save a bit o' cash...and a 143 cm board sounds right to me.
check out the Liquid Force Omega package. you would get a 143 Omega board which is a very solid board and XXL Alpha bindings.
also there is the Hyperlite State package. you would want the 145 State wakeboard and the XL State bindings. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

The Concrete XL goes up to 15 but the footbed is huge there is enough room for 16. Wow what are going to do when he is still growing sounds like you have a NFL player on your hands.

| Thanks! I'll check into these suggestions. If we just had a quarter for every time someone asked us if he played football--we'd be rich! |

I myself wear a size 14 in Nike basketball shoes and I actually like the hyperlite spin XL's that I have. I'll acknowledge that they are not a high end binding and may not provide as much support as others but on the bright side they fit my big feet with enough room so that when I'm done for the day I still have some feeling left in my toes.
I know that HO (hyperlite water ski division) they make XXL so I would bet that they make XXL for the wakeboard boots too.
Good luck |

Some XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL's is what i'd say. Hyperlite has some big bindings. _________________ The sky is not the limit. Wanna see me naked? |

I wear a size 14, and have Hyperlite Splits XXL. They fit just fine, with a little room actually. They have been replaced by States I believe. Check ebay, there are lots of Splits there, plus lots of online places should have last year's models cheaper. _________________ Be an organ donor! | I've got a 16-17 shoe size, and I get by with lots of binding lube(Duckbutter) I'll have to look at what brand of bindings I have next time I'm out. My toes drag in the water sometimes, but it doesn't seem to be much of a problem, at least in this stage of my Wakeboarding progress( I've been ot about 4 times) |

You can get a Hyperlite ERA board all the way up to 147. The ERA is huge and I've heard of 300lbs dudes riding it.
As for the bindings, I have a hell of a time getting into the pro series bindings. I'm not very coordinated and my feet don't bend like silly putty the way some folks do to get into those things. Tell him to rub lube all over his feet, not just squirt it into the boot. Go with the Hyperlite State or Split, they are way easier to enter than those pro boots. I say there is no sense being frustrated trying to get a binding on while floating in the water and spending less time boarding. |

| I'm size 14, and I just got a board with Hyperlite State XL bindings. I can get into them very easily. Easier than my friends Parks XXL bindings, actually... give those a try. |

| I weigh about 250. I will second the Hyperlite ERA 147 board. I bought one this year and have enoyed it. I also ride a LF Substance 142. The Era would be a much better board for the beginner.... but it will still flip/spin with the substance. |
