seadooman89, most people, including myself, will say that it is better to stay in your bindings on falls. However, if you have an extremely bad fall, you are gonna want to come out of your bindings. Worst thing possible to happen is to fall with 1 foot in and one foot out Shocked . So for a beginner, since you are more than likely not going to have absolutely horrible falls (there is always a chance though) you are probably gonna want to stay in your bindings. So ride with your bindings tight enough that they feel snug, but not ungodly uncomfortable.

I like to have mine tight enough to stay on if i fall sideways, but come off if I catch a toe edge and dive in at high speed.

I think it depends on how hard you fall. I have had some beaters that pulled the board right off. Then times when i dont fall so bad and it stays on. I think as long as the binding fits correctly and is snug you will come out of it when you need to come out of it.

I ride with mine pretty tight because I don't want them to fall off, it's a pain getting them back on in the water. Also this usually keeps me from having the one foot come out, one stay in problem... never happened yet. And to really answer your question... if you fall hard enough, or a certain way... you're not going to a have much of a choice whether to stay in or out - they're coming off bro! Cool

Agreed 100% with the end...

And with my bindings, they arent really hard to get on per se, but I dont want them to fly off on a lame fall. Also, you are going to want your bindings really tight when you are hitting sliders.

Keep in mind, the bindings that stay on wen you fall are harder to get on too. But its worth it to get better bindings.

I currently have alphas...and because the string kept coming loose when I was riding I decided to put a knot in it. Now, under no circumstances do they come off. Hopefully that doesn't result in an injury some day.
