Apparently all these wakeboard boats have V-drive! Could someone please explain to me what V-drive is and why it's important for wakeboarding boats?
Thank you |

v-drive is where the engine is in the back, like an i/o, but the drive shaft goes to the middle of the boat and then turns back around making a "v" in the driveshaft. then the prop comes out just like and inboard. _________________ Chuck Norris' chief export is pain. Ckligor pretty much has it covered, I just wanted to add two things.
1. Some boats (Correct Craft is one example) have the transmission and V-drive separate. V-drive is short for Vector Drive, some people however seem to call it a "vee drive" unhyphenated...
2.Wakeboarders like the engine in the back because the engine is the heaviest component in the boat, and as you may have noticed, a lot of people weigh their boats following the 60/40 rule 60 percent of the weight in the back 40 in the front. Of course this is just a guideline and all boats will react to weight differently. _________________ wakeboards
