Apple Imac G5

I just got a new apple Imac G5. It comes with Imovie but i want something more advanced for editing. I was thinking of getting Final Cut Express. If you have any expiriences with it could you tell me the pro's and con's. Thanks in advance

Candybar-
I used iMovie for a year with my company until I needed to do things I couldn't handle. FC Express is a good breaking ground to pro, but if you are in school, then use your educational discounts to get FCP or FC express cheap.
When you get either, go get a book on them, (the apple educational series is great for FCP) and read it and do the tutorials. That's how I learned at the start. Oh, and don't forget to go shoot some stuff so you have something to edit.
