Hey Guys Im new to the forum but not new to wakeboarding. ive been boarding for a couple of years now and i have always had the problem of my grip wearing out fast. After about 2 or 3 passes across the wake my hands are killing me. Any tips or ideas you guys have to make your grip last longer??

dont listen to snooks, just do whatever feels comfortable. a handle with an EVA grip is your best best bet, but if you dont want to buy another handle get a pair of gloves.

Get a good handle. Screw gloves, they are gay.

DMX9907, go to evogear.com and you can get a nice LF gregg handle for like $30. It is normally around $60 I believe.

http://evogear.com/productdetail.asp?pn=1058 <--- LF Gregg handle 1

http://evogear.com/productdetail.asp?pn=2037 <--- LF Gregg handle 2

those were the only handles I could find, but I like the 2. In case you were wondering, the only difference besides color are the floats on 2.

What's this about gloves being gay? No wonder they were always velcroed together! those little whores!

Forget about whats 'cool' and all that sh|t. Try it, if it helps then use em. But keep in mind that when you start doing hand passes (or if you do already) the gloves might get in the way. I screwed up my arm last weekend when the wrist strap of my glove caught on the handle. The bruise from my wrist to elbow is a pretty color at least.

Agreed that you should get a handle no matter what.

Oh, and don't let people wear rings if they don't have gloves. I think that's where all the tears came from in my grip...

gloves are gay, if you wear them you'll look gay. im all for doing whatever it takes to step up ur riding but sometimes its too much. it'd be like wearing a cup in a soccer game, it could eventually come in handy but ur gonna look like a big a$$hole. on so def. get a handle and screw the gloves. the one on evogear was a great deal so pick it up if you want. that should do away w/ all ur grip problems and u might wanna start looking into a no stretch rope(if u dont already have one) too, it makes a big difference.

I am somewhat with everyone in that glovers arent the answer. I have rode with guys whom choose to use them, and their reasoning is always, "it helps my hands not get blistered". However, your body, feet, and hands built up a tolerance level and will form callusis, so that the skin becomes rough and allows you to take the rigors of a handle over and over. Just let nature do its thing, and you will be alright!

Gloves have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with being gay..........Wear 'em if you want to, I have a nice handle and don't feel the need to wear gloves. I do take off my rings before wakeboarding though. Might be due to your handle. Wink
