| Everyone talks about the progressive edge which is needed to jump the wake but how do I do it? Am I right in saying you lean away from the boat with your arms str8? Thanks |

BEFORE making your approach to the wake dont just turn your board toward the wake and speed for the wake... Gradually edge, when starting out slowly drift toward the wake while and keep turning the board more toward the wake slowly as your approaching it....
thats the best way I can describe... |

The best way I've heard it explained is this:
1. Cut out away from the wake.
2. As you get out the farthest from the boat you want to go, point your board in the angle you would like to approach the wake at.
3. As you approach the wak, in order to keep this angle, you have to cut harder and harder, cutting the hardest at the top of the wake.
4. Land on edge and ride out your landing.
So basically, you are setting your angle--and that stays constant. Its your edge that you have to progressively build to hold that angle of attack at the wake.
I was confused when I first started trying this because I though you had to constantly build your angle at the wake--and I was wondering why I had no speed and was parallel to the wake still. |
