| I tried to land my first 360 last week. I've read all the tips on for it on this website and i thought i was pretty prepared for it. Once i was in the air i started the rotation and the handle pass but didnt even come close. In the air i lost the rope and fell flat on my back. Happened 3 times in a row. I honeslty have no clue what to do and i know there has been a million topics on 360's but any tips for my situation would be appreciated. |

alright I tried looking in the previous 360 posts but I couldn't find who mentioned it previously.... but act as if you were doing any other non-spin jump... and when you do try to spin focus all you can on doing the handle pass. forget the spin just get the handle pass the spin will come along with the pass.
if you can't do two handed 180's learn them first, the two hands will help you pull the handle that much better.
when you get that handle pass hold on like hell and land that 360 |

a lot of people I ride with or have seen ride tend to do there 180's by letting go of the handle with their front hand to initiate the 180, eventually landing with one hand on the handle.
Get use to doing 180's without letting go with one hand, do the 180 by pulling the handle with both hands to your rear hip... this will help you initiate the spin better and make it easier to get the handle pass on a 3. Hey, whatever works, works... I am just suggesting what helped me learn 360's |

also to help with handle passes before you go have the slack tigtened out of the rope and do them in the water to help you with keeping your hands in and resiting the pull _________________ kwake wakeboard gear |

AbsoluteRida, Yes keep two hands on the handle and snap the hips....
In the long run you will be able to grab it better and in a lot more different places.
bjackson, is making a good point.... sloppy 180's get you no where and will make it harder to progress up the spin ladder..... Letting the boat pull you to 180 is OK to finish a spin but initiating it that way is NOT GOOD technique... _________________ PEACE

AbsoluteRida, when you do your surface 360 do you toss the handle in the air and try to catch it with the other hand???
I'm fairly sure you PASS it to the other hand, meaning you never let go of the handle until it is in the other hand..
Why do the W2W 3 any different? _________________ PEACE

| AbsoluteRida, you might not be getting any slack in the rope because you are starting to spin too soon... don't begin the spin until your completely in the air... its fustrating at first but you'll get it keep trying dude |

I did this because I had too much tension doing grabs so maybe it'll work for you.
As you go to stand up while riding up the wake pull the handle towards you slightly. It pulls you foward and puts a bit of slack in the line. I do it really hard for stalefish and almost not at all for methods.

| I have the same problem occasionally. (Barelllyyy miss the handle but rotate fine) Just yank it a lot harder than you think you need to. Dont worry about the rortation, its instinct, just pull the handle and itll come. If you still dont get it, a good tip is to have your arms all the way out on the cut so you can yank the handle farther to creat more slack in the air. Good luck! |
