|
|
| I'm hoping that all of you wakeboarding experts out there can help me. I need to know what the minimum jet ski requirements are for pulling a wakeboarder. By that I mean what's the optimum brand, horsepower, etc, to pull someone up to 6'2, 200lbs? |

Most if not any jetskis should pull you. People have ridden behind 50 hp. I can ride easily behind my Seadoo GTX DI. I think it's got around... meh... 120 hp? They even make wakeboarding/wakeskating editions of the GTX 4-TEC. I love my seadoo. _________________

I know that in Canada you need to have a 3 seater, 2 seaters are illegal for towing. You need a seat for the driver, spotter, and yourself if you get hurt. For power, you should be able to get up behing any recent year 2000+ however the higer power machines are obviously going to do a better job of getting you up quick. _________________ O+<| |

| I am currently wakeboarding behind a 1996 Kawasaki Jetski 1100 ZXI. It has plenty of power but makes no wake. |

We ride behind a 2004 yamaha 800 3 seater with 2 180lb+ guys on the boat, and 1 180lb+ guy on the board and it puts up a little more than a foot of wake and pops us right out of the water..
do with what you can I say ;P _________________ http://www.myspace.com/galen96 |

On a related subject, do you know where to get a wakeboard rack for the Sea Doo GTX? I tried ordering the one from Sea Doo for the GTX Wake, but apparently it has been discontinued this year as an accessory.
I need to carry two boards on a Sea Doo and it's really uncomfortable riding around without a rack. |

Yeah, I searched eBay and found nothing. I've tried several on-line stores that still have the Sea Doo 2004 catalog. But when I place the order I then get a response that it has been discontinued.
Do you guys have racks on your PWCs, or do you just carry the board? I have to haul two boards at a time and it's kinda a pain without a rack on a little Sea Doo. |

i don't have a rack. haha sounds funny. i just put the boards in the foot wells toeside down w/ the bindings facing out. i mean oviously i wouldn't just go out for a ride w/ them there but it works for wakeboarding since i'm not riding long w/ out a wakeboarder. _________________

| I actually found it easier to get up and ride behind my Sea Doo. I failed miserably behind a boat, but the Sea Doo had a nice easy pull and a novice driver can easily work the throttle. The smaller wake is actually way easier to ride to learn on too, becuase you're not constantly bailing when you traverse the wake. |

| i ride in the atlantic ocean with waves and chop, that nearly destroys my wake completely. so in my case hmm.... so much... your probably lucky and get to ride in a lake where its glass constantly, wel i dont. so when i want better thn a 6inch wake i have to put 3 big heavy people on my ski. so...our situations are different and i make the most of what iv got. |
