O'Brien bindings help

I have 2004 Device bindings that came as part of a package. They have free floating tongues and are quite poo-like. they become crooked and off-center immediately after putting your foot in, so forget about falling.

does any here have or have ridden either the 2005 O'brien Device or 2005 O'brien Base bindings?

I am interested to know something about the tongue: is it attached to the sides or the foot pad or does it "free float"?

any personal opinions, comments about hold, confort, etc. would be great. personal close-ups pics would be even better.

edit: keep in mind that i am broke, therefore i do not ask about more expensive bindings.
