Does anybody own or already tried this boat? If so how is the wake and the overall performance? I were looking into buying one this year.

Rydog, yes.... Hyperlite, basied on the fact that it is a jet boat, crappy! buy a older Inboard or a new Moomba... or go whith a 95-03 super sport Nautique, it has the same hull as a 2003 SAN....

Yea i saw that the Challernger X was like 25,000 with that money or alittle more you could get a Mobius or Mobius LSV. The Mobius LSV is an awsome boat and you can get one for around 27,000.

I just picked mine up today. If you want a boat just for big wake its not the way to go, but if you want an all around boat that can be used for intermediate/advanced wakeboarding I dont think you can beat it. I found a dealer for moomba in the area and there wakeboard models start at $33K. I got my X-20 for $24K. I know some of you spend 10 grand on your stereo but not me. 10 grand is alot of money.
I took the boat out about an hour ago and with no weight it has the same wake as my Glastron I/O. Add the stock 600lb balast and a couple of 250lb side sacs and I thnik the wake will be plenty big. (When I go pro I will buy am x-star Laughing )
The other thing is that with out balast this baot will rock for sliders, it turn fast enough to throw you out of the boat.

My friend recently bought a seadoo challenger X.
The boat is not for the boarder searching for extreme limits. If you want huge wakes then don't buy this boat. This boat has a nice wake and 600 pounds ballast and removable tower. It is perfect for the intermediate rider searching higher levels like myself. Also he got the boat for 33K canadian and that translates to about 20K american or less. If you need a nice boat but can't afford a supra or tige then pick this beauty.

Rob

P.S. it also has a 350 hp mercruiser engine

K2 - You can definetly get a Moomba for mid 20's. MSRP (from the website) on an Outback LS w/ Tower and Ballast is 28K. A loaded Mobius would probably be around 33K. Last year during the boat show I got mine w/out ballast or tower for right around 20.

I am telling you the dealer I went to had one and it was 33k. Do you really think that is I could have paid the same price I would have passed up an inboard?

You might could bring him down sum but still with that money you could get a mobius LSV with a much better wake. Have they started doing different gear ratios in those things. I remember when they jsut had 250 hp and they went 60 mph with 350 the thing should go 100.

I dont know what you would or should do, I just know that if that dealer is really charging 33 for a direct drive Outback he is ripping somebody off because those boats usually go for around 25. I also know what I paid for mine, and what my friend paid for his loaded Mobius-V and that was around 32.

G- My boat tops out around 42 or so.

Teh Sea-Doo jet boats are all over the place when pulling people or riding behind htem. I have done both. An aggresive rider can pull them around. The wake is nothing compared to a direct drive hull. They also suck down the gass, even compared to a weighted tourny boat. I would get an old used and beat up tournament boat before buying one of the Sea-Doo or Yamaha jet boats. They are fun though for just speeding around and doing 360's. Pretty fast little boats.

First of all, most people who say they have ridden behind "them" have ridden speedsters and other small boats. This is a 20' boat, I really doubt that it will get pulled around. Especially when one of the reviews I read specifically said "it tracked like a pro ski boat."
Last thing is I wasn't trying to but a pro wakeboard boat. I was looking at runabouts and saw this for a good deal with a tower and ballast. It saves me the problems of trying to get a tower installed on a Glastron or Larson and then having the fiberglass crack from not being reinforced. You know what they say, "sorry that s not covered under warranty"

Moomba Configuration & Options
Price
Boat Type: Outback $23,995.00
12-Volt DC Recepticle: Standard
28-oz Platinum Plush Carpet: Standard
Indmar Assault Carb-310 hp (standard): Standard
Additional Fin: Standard
Rear Ballast System: $795.00
Rad-A-Cage Tower: $1,595.00
AM/FM MP3 CD w/Remote: $550.00
Single Axle Trailer with Disc Brakes: Standard
Alum Wheels Single Axle: $350.00

Standard Options
Includes INdmar Assault 310 HP. Includes 28-oz Platinum Plush Carpet. For trailer, includes Single Torsion Axle with Disc Brakes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOTAL US $27,285.00

Here is a price from moomba with out tax or dealer mark up for the same options I have. Then add in 700 prep, $2000 in tax, etc. and 21K out the door dosent sound so bad huh?

Rather than trying to trash people with outboards, jet drives and anyone who dosent "look" the part; why dont you stop being "elite" and start being real. We are all here for the same reason, we love to ride. Weather you ride behind a 79' Glastron tri-hull or an 03' X-star you are still riding.

You should have rode behind the boat before you bought that piece of crap. Don't bash on people when you ask there opinion and they give it. I would have bought a pontoon boat with an outboard before that hunk of junk.

Hey man---if you look back at my posts (and I'm the main one talking about moomba) I was very careful not to bash your boat. I think its cool you got a new boat. What I have found from buying boats, cars, a house, etc. is that the MSRP is usually higher than what you usually pay. You just showed exactly what I said the Outback is priced @ 28K with all that stuff. So if your dealer was trying to charge 33K thats 28 for the boat + 5k. Also MSRP should include dealer mark-up. Finally the way I know that they are around 25 is that I can walk into the dealer down the street and see it in person, not just looking at the MSRP. Oh yeah, I think you priced the LS not the regular Outback so it could even be cheaper. You basically paid the same thing I did for mine.
Again, I dont mean to bash your boat (and I havent), but you are definetly uninformed about Moomba pricing. Actually I think you'll have a blast w/ your boat.
