trying to get the backroll down and I always under rotate, any tips to get that rotation down correct?

most of the videos I watch of someone doing a plain backroll they usually come down either on or close to the second wake. when I throw mine I am crashing a pretty substantial distance out in the flats. Maybe I am holding on to the wake to long? Should I not hold the edge as long on the wake?

well i can't land them but i have heard a few things about them. One of those things is that if you bring the handle closer to your body you will flip faster
and vice versa. Hopefully that helps a little.

yeah if youre taking it into the flats u are cuttin to hard at it, practice the 10-15 feet jumps and get them nice and lofty and wake to wake, then try and do the backroll, if you cut to fast you may be loosing pop or just not being able to control the rotation, hope that helps

You must have a progressive edge. Backing off will kill your speed of rotation.

Another thing, already mentioned, is keeping the handle in tight. This plays a huge part in your speed of rotation. The handle is your friend... learn to work with it.

Landing the HS backroll in the flats makes for a tougher landing when learning. Shorten your cut to kill a bit of distance, but make sure your edge is progressive and keep the handle in tight.
