it should be long enough to hit the cleanest part of the wake.. usually 65ft is popular.. some 70 and some 60

yea the closer u ride, the narrower the wake is, but u cant build up as much speed on ur cut.

My wake is horrible so I ride at 53 including handle.

If u are a newbie i really recomend riding as close as you can when you start to learn to jump, then progress out. I started then summer not being able to jump the wake on 45 ft, then i jumped it consistently so i moved to 50, then 55. i ride 55 right now and when I get to 60 ill stick there.
