if that is in fact shane's boot it will qualify as being one of the ugliest things i have ever laid my eyes on. the stitching on the sides of the boot looks like its from a tacky women's purse, too.
now that we've seen pics of the closed toe binding would anyone care to tell us of the benefits?

I imagine the FAST disc thing screws onto the bottom like the present boots.. I may be wrong.

the only benefit i see is easier entry/exit i mean put the boot on in the boat and then snap in in the water....

| the shane looks really stiff/heavy. they are probably really easy to get into considering there is no strap on the tongue so you cant pull on it. so far lf has a disspaointing showing in the 06 gear im hoping cwb and hyperlite will pick up the slack.

| Finally a wake boot with Gum Soles!!! That is so friggen uhhhh....effective? Maybe it doesn't use the FAST just some Vans style waffle grip on the top deck. That would be tight.

That shane binding is bordering on "burnt orange" which thus makes it the ugliest binding I've ever seen!
I'm not sure if they've ever taken a close look at the color orange but it's pretty much the ugliest color out there.
The Watson boot looks like a cross between a snowboard boot and a designer womens boot.
Funcitonally it looks like it might be pretty sweet though. They do look like they'd be lighter than last year and the wrap around side might be a really good idea for ease getting in and out of the binding while staying in when you want to.

i am thinking that the binding is like a trick ski binding, but a lot more comfortable.
Craig-R, it's a new thing they are going to try. i think that it might go well because it will give a more snowboard feel, IMO.

I am extremely dissapointed in the showing from LF for '06, and I've been all about their bindings this year I LOVE MY TEAMS and they aren't continuing them
Oh...and what's up with Shane's whole Baller image he's trying to bring to riding? First the "Baller" vest, then the '06 Shpynx which look like some late '80s Jordans, now these that look like some converse all stars. Maybe they should have a pump like the Reboks.

scott a, yes.... I have YET to hear a logical argument why we need closed toe bindings. Probably because there is not a logical reason...
...except for the fact that the gimmick will most likely bring the wallys running.
LF just lost another big chunk of respect from this former LF fan.

So true, so true. I can't tell from the picture b/c the watson is so dark...but I hope it doesn't have the gay stitching the Shane does.

From what I can see, It does have that gay stitching with little LF logos inbetween them. Looks like the purses all the girls carry around school to be hip. Hmm.

Could it be that you would feel more protected in a binding with a toe? Reaching here, but maybe?

To protect from all the alligators in Fl. that nibble on wakeboarders toes.
Burton called and they want their boot liners back.
Does the Shane came with a fake gold chain and medallion? The kind that when you wear it it turns your neck green? Then it will be so cool to have a green neck that guys will get tattoos around their neck that looks like it.
I like the innovative lace holder. Those things are so bad that they are almost a parody of themselves, much like Shane.

wakeboarder rez, I'm hoping he/she is being sarcastic, but given that signature, I doubt it.
He/she is 16, and I think that explains a lot.
