I went out and tried to wakeboard, emphasize the word try. I started out on the board perpindicular to the boat, when the driver took off, I could not get up on the water. How do you get the position you need to plane out on water. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Please help me, how are you suppose to start out, please let me know. _________________ Jimmy Kubes |

| I've taught a couple of my friends to get up on a wakeboard so maybe I can help you. The most common problems they have experienced when trying to get up is keeping their body completely extended and leaning back too much. Your perpendicular board position is correct. Try bending your knees quite a bit... like your crouching. I wrap my arms around my knees and hold the handle about 4 inches away from the board. When the boat starts pulling just hold your body in that position without leaning back too much. When you feel the board plain out extend your legs and straighten the board naturally. |

i just started boarding today and got up on the third try when my dad first accelerated he started off slow crunched as far in and turned the board forward i then put weight on the back of the board still crunched and stood up slowly. handle at hips. the handle got away from me sometimes and i faceplanted at the end of the day i was up for about 15secs on 3foot deep waves. it was so choppy. good luck!!!!! _________________ ARMED with a board and my Momma says Im DANGEROUS! |

Get in what my daughter, she's 8, calls "poo position" knees bent like your on the toilet. Handle infront of your lead knee with arms extended. Keep board perpendicular to the boat. When it starts the water should press against the board and allow u to stand up, by estending legs and pulling rope. put more weight on the back leg this will help keep the tip up and out of water. When board planes out even out the weight on ur legs. Hope this helps it is pretty much how i have got my 8 year old up and going after 10 trys and several older people up as well. Good luck and welcome to the addiction. |
