Hey all, just new to the website, pretty flippin' sweet... I'd like to know if you guys like my equipment.
Double Up Soul 140 (Pure Ride Graphic)
Double Up Kix Bindings
Sea Rayder f16 xr (its small i know, but it goes fast and at the right speed it'll throw a decent wake)
I went for my first time 3 days ago and man it was AWESOME! The board felt really squirrely and hard to control at first, but i think im just getting used to it (or is it a bad board?). At the end of the day i was getting a bit of air off the wake and almost landed a jumped 180. Great fun all in all.
Also, i was trying to do a slide into switch, it seemed like halfway through turning the board it'd just slip out infront of me and i'd fall on my back. Am i doing something wrong or do i just need practice?
Any responses would be most hardcore :). |

WyattEarpMadman, Let me be the first to welcome you to the forums and to the sport in general. Theres alot of good stuff on here , just use the search feature to find what youre looking for. As far as your gear is concerned , I'm sure its fine , double up is a legitimate brand , and as long as it floats and keeps you above water and strapped in , it shouldnt be a problem for you at this point. Just keep practicing and get some more time under your belt and you'll feel alot more comfortable on your board. It just takes some getting used to. Good luck! _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

it looks like it has very rounded edges. it looks a little like the hyperlite roam. i dont know too much about the boards when it comes to whats better, but after you try it out and get used to it, you can judge for yourself. _________________ <CBV>

I just looked at your board and it didnt say anything about the fin configuration. Does it have any? _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

| Yeah it does, its just a twin fin with 1.5cm's i believe. I'm still getting used to it, so i think thats why it felt hard to control. |

http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard4.asp?ProductID=1833
Fin configuration: N/A - i found a cite with the specs, but it doesnt say anything aboupt the fins.
so you said your riding 1.5 cm? i think those would be real hard for a beginner. im sorta a beginner, but im still riding my stock 2 inch fins (couldnt find anything else at the local shop) my fins have a sorta different assembly to them. theres two pegs that go into holes in the board, and one screw in the middle that goes through the board. but yea, if your a beginner, i woule proably say to ride bigger fins, _________________ <CBV>
