ok, here is my question, and i hope yall can help me out. i am trying to learn new tricks, and right now i am working on a 360. my boat is a glastron mx175 with no ballast, and my board is a hyperlite motive 140. What is possible on a small wake? can i learn a backroll or a tantrum, or am i just wasting my time? _________________ Leges |

360 yes. Backroll yes. Tantrum yes. Just keep at it.
Yeah wake's play somewhat of a large factor, but it's all about technique. You can still do tons of tricks with what you have.
If you've got some extra cash, you could look into throwing a fat sac in the bow. |

410fortune, don't bother practicing a backroll on a tramp as they feel completely different behind the boat. You can't really simulate a roll on a tramp. 3's and tantrums are cool on a tramp though. As far as the small wake, keep trying these moves. If you learn them behind a small wake, when you ride behind a good wake you will be able to take them huge. I learned almost all my inverts and 3's behind a 19ft imperial I/O which had a small wake. When I finally bought my nautique I was taken stuff huge and with the proper technique. And if you think about it, all the tricks you are trying can be done as air tricks(without the wake) so they are possible for sure. Keep at it. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

yea, I learned most of my stuff behind a Bryant I/O. Take a tantrum for example, after pulling a bunch behind that one, once I got a fat wake from a wake boat, I can get them pretty big. Sometimes Im not so lucky though haha. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |
