I told her not to do it, but my mom just decided to buy a party barge. Rolling Eyes She thinks it will pull me wakeboarding, but I'm not so sure. The boat is a 24 footer and has a 115 horsepower engine. Im going to look really dumb, but I just want to practice riding switch and hopping the wake, so will a party barge work???

Is it like a pontoon boat. If it is yes it will pull you. There is another thread on here about a pontoon boat and wakeboarding you can search for that if you feel the need.

That pontoon will definately pull you. However, you're not going to be able to get a nice wake to jump off of. My friend and I wakeboarded behind a 50hp pontoon last weekend for the heck of it so you can definately do it behind a 115hp.

I have rode behind a pontoon boat before. It is ok for just learning the basics of boarding but you will not progress to doing any sort of jump tricks.

A friend just got a 22' sweetwater with a 115 merc this spring. It tops out about 25mph.
It will pull you for sure but there is no wake. I thought it was Colorful when he got it, but after we put a system in it seems like at the party cove everyone is on the party barge.

We put (2) 12" JL W-3 and (8 ) Eclipse 6.5" (2) PG amps an 800-2, 600-2, easy install on a pontoon and it sounds good.
And now he's polishing the alum pontoons, it looks good but I still think he's on crack!

Have fun.
