I've been wakeboarding about four times now and every time i ride my arms are always staright out in front of me and not bent at just below shoulder width but i was alking to a friend who has been taking lessons over in Texas has said that they have taught him to keep his arms aaround near his hips and they should be bent. this seems to me that it would cause you to loose tension? what should i be doing?

Also my friend was taught that to switch you bring your arms around your body and the board wit naturally come round.

Any ideas on what i should do. So far ive been just pulling my arms in front the sgtraight position and then trying to spin as quick as i can?

I ride goofy normally is that makes a difference.

its probably more comfortable to ride like that. and i dont think you'd lose alot of tension because if you keep it in pretty much the same spot it wont go slack. for going switch it makes sense to move youre arms but it all has to be one motion. you shouldnt have to spin too fast just lean back

What I do is use a one handed hold and then I switch hands. Use the same hand as the front foot you are switching too. This should help pull the board around because your hips will want to match your new shoulder position. Using a single hand hold helps to keep the shoulders in alignment with the board. Using two hands can tend to pull the back shoulder around. This is can be very bad for landings and why I recommend one handed landings.

I use all kinds of rope and arm positions, but general I always put the rope near my hip with arms slightly bent, legs straight when hitting the wake. Everything before and after that is rider discretion.

when i was first learning i would give myself a tug towards the boat at a slower speed then wat i board at ex 16

then i would put most weight on back foot and turn my front foot the way i want to switch, it works great!

and now i can just do it in my sleep

you have got to reverse what you do when you ride regular, practise butterslides to switch then back to regular. you're most likely not leaning back far enough so your toeside edge is digging in therefore resulting in the faceplant.
