ok I am just going to vent a little bit.

Satarday I was at the boat ramp, beautiful day, nice conditions, we are out on the water for about three hours. So I get back to the ramp and walk up to get the trailer, I get up there and the front bumper on my truck has been almost completely torn off and my truck and been moved over about two feet. So I look and I have a note from the fish police to calll them, I do he comes out and tells me that this woman hit my truck with her pontoon boat trailer. The bad part is not only did she hit my truck but a truck on the other side of her also. Now I don't know about you but if you can't drive a trailer you should probably NOT own a boat. I just can't stand stupid people and how she didn't know she tearing the bumper off a my truck is beyond me.

Venting is fun, sometimes it just helps. We had a note on our car one day that said "You are not allowed to park backwards in a trailer spot. Park right next time! - The Law" It was on the back of a bank ATM slip. This note was from the guy parked next to us that took up 2 spaces for his 125 outboard skeeter. The Park patrol had ticketed his vehicle and told us about the note, they thought we would get a kick out of it.

she probably noticed when she hit your bumper but she knew she couldn't back a trailer so she proceeded to go forward and tear it off. watching women back trailers is almost as fun as watching them take off their clothes. okay, maybe not near almost as fun but still fun.

well I just got the estimate its going to cost her $1850.00 to fix. Maybe she should learn to drive the trailer away from other cars and trucks.

Bo Coppinger,

At least she was considerate enough to leave a note and not just skip out on the damages. I have had that happen to me before but with different circumstances.

she had too the fish cop sits at the ramp all day. She also took out some other guys truck at the same time. I think he may have been there. I am just irritated because now I will not be able to get out on the water while my truck is being fixed. Not to mention it hurts the resale value of my truck.

What kind of truck do you have? Someone hit the left front of my truck, just damaged the headlight, grill, bumper, etc... Estimate was around 2400, I got the check from the insurance company and just did it myself for around 1000. It's pretty easy, you should think about doing it yourself, especially if all the damaged parts are just bolt on.

I would have an auto repair shop do it if someone else is paying for the damage. Make them pay more and you don't have to waste any time. Unless you enjoy doing this kind of stuff. Rolling Eyes

Stupid people can be the best thing around. Where Rocko and I board, we get to see at least one person a weekend untie their boat from the trailer so when they back up, it falls off the trailer. Then half the time, they scrape the boat for another 5-10 feet down the concrete of the ramp. It is really funny to see people with $10,$15-40,000+ boats getting total on the ramp!!! Razz

Not to be a smart ass, but she said she just got her permit. I would guess she is 15.

umm... not to be a smartass... but it differs by state. as a matter of fact, it's 14 here in arkansas. actually, that's why i was asking... just because i read about her permit.

Something similar to that happened to me. I had the empty trailer sitting in a parking spot and someone else came around me kind of close and they got there trailer hooked up on mine. The person didn't see it and he ended up pulling my trailer. when he realized it my trailer was sitting sideways to my truck. Luckily there was no damage.
