Ok, this is kind of funny in a stupidly ironic way:

So I got these pull up cleats a year and a half ago, and they've been sitting in my garage that long because they wanted a lot of money to put them on professionally, and me and my friend could never find the time to do it ourselves.

So FINALLY, we get the balls and the time to put them on last Sunday. So we've drilled the holes, and it turns out we don't have the correct size counter sink bit. So rather than go and buy one, (because this has been 1.5 years in the waiting, and I was pissed off) I decide to hand-sand the counter sink in myself.

So we do that.

Take the boat out the next day, raft up for awhile, use the new cleats a bunch, all is great.

However, there is one cleat that we slightly messed up one of the holes, and chipped the gel. I thought I sanded it and beveled it out real good, but, you guessed it, this morning I noticed a crack in that spot about two millimeters long coming from under the cleat.

So the questions: Should I try to fix it now? Will it definitely get bigger, or should I see what happens in the future? Will the cleat's structural integrity be compromised, should I avoid using that cleat?

Right now there is really no way you would notice the crack unless you were specifically inspecting that cleat, and even then you might miss it.

thoughst? How hard is this to diy?

cameraboy, some of my factory installed cleats have spider cracks around them. Depending on how deep the crack is it is just cosmetic and won't affect the structural integrity of the hull or the cleat. I wouldn't worry unless it looks pretty deep. I've talked to different people about whether or not to get them fixed and everyone tells me that it won't matter because they'll just form back after. Not a whole lot you can do about it.

It doesn't look very deep at all. I think I'll just leave it and see it it grows.
