what up all....i was lookin for some info on the sport and came across this site....it's pretty dope...anyways i just got copped me that new biolite premier 141 w/ some state bindings.....hated the bindings so i took them back and got me some ERA's.....haven't had a chance to ride in them yet but they fit nice and that board rocks.....anyways

i'm looking for some advice on wakeskates....i'm a big dude 6'3" 220 and was wondering what size deck i should be gettin....also is foam better than grip tape and shoes???

check out wakeskating.com, everything is basically personal preference though...just do a search, you should be able to find something

rsixxr, grip all the way, IMO. I wasn't a big fan of the foam, but it is more forgiving on landings. Start out with a flat deck in the range of a 43 or so and you should be good.

i was totally a fan of the foam decks at first because i liked riding barefoot. but then i started trying out decks that were grip, and i wore shoes (duh!). After riding a grip deck, i don't think i would buy a foam deck (not that i wouldn't ride one), but i think that the grip decks are better. they are way easier to jimmy your feet around the deck, and i have a better feel for the board on a grip deck then on foam.

but it is totally prefrence, so i would try to ride both and decide which surface you like better.
