It is all personal preference. I like to ride with my back foot square and my front foot at a 15 degree open angle. I also like the bindings centered in the board. All depends on how you like it.

id put the bindings one hole in from all the way out on each side, then duck them out a little bit. not a whole lot, but you dont want them straight. maybe 30 degrees or so from being perpendicular to the board.

don't listen to luketx04, not to be mean but your feet should be symetrical therefore you can ride switch, now if you ask any pro boarders they'll have them different then us but your supposed to have the bindings wide as your shoulders and ducked outwards so your toes should be pointing at an angle outwards.

AirProfile, youre not "supposed" to have your bindings in any one position. its all about personal preference. when i wakeboard my front foot is actually pretty straight and my back food is ducked a bit more. this is because when i am riding switch i can cut better because i dont have as much flexibility in that side of my back. its different for everyone.

i generally set up newbies with the back foot straight and the front foot ducked out so they can rotate their shoulders toward the boat easier. if youre going to be trying 180s i would make them relatively symmetrical. from there you can move them around as needed.

one note about how wide your stance is. the wider your stance is the more balance you will have, but the harder it will be to spin. if your stance is narrower you wont have as much balance, but you will be able to spin better. this is in theory, and in reality people still ride with their bindings all the way out or one hole in. again, its all personal preference.

since you can already land 180s i wouldnt say that your stance is wrong or anything, but if you arent happy with it try changing it up a bit every set until you find out where you really like your bindings to be. but then on the other hand you can just leave them if its already comfortable. you that old saying- if it aint broke...

scott a, i don't mean to contradict what you're saying, but 30 degrees is not slightly ducked. That's a really hardcore angle. If you're going to duck just a little i would say anywhere from 8-18 degrees.

if he shortened it it wouldn't have as much content, thus being less useful.

yes, scott is a neat name indeed.

he doesn't "waste" time on this forum... he uses it to share his knowledge and gain the knowledgs of others.

oh yeah, and there is the slight fact that he was RIGHT. and you were wrong. boo hoo. no need to attack anyone on the forum. especially scott a. ***COUGH* post count gives authority *COUGH***

AirProfile, i have a job...i work at a boardshop. and like numbfoot said i dont "waste" time here. i spend it reading entertaining threads in the non-wake forum, trading ideas in general wake and helping people here in this forum. i have a lot of posts because ive been here awhile.

dont get butt hurt because i dont agree with what you said.

numbfoot- yeah youre right. 30 is a bit much. i have no more authority over others because of my post count, though. there are pros on this board that post every now and again and even though they have only a few posts they know more about some things than i probably ever will.

ok true, but people with a higher post count generally have more respect on the site because they're been here longer and know how things go down.

AirProfile, no offence but your diagram is 100% symmetrical so it could be for regular or goofy, also i think the difference between your aproach to answering this question and most others is that you want to be right, well there is no right there's simply opinions when it comes to stance

A7XHC, to give you another perspective I ride about 18 degrees ducked for my front foot and 15 for my back, I also have my stance setback slighty when riding regular so my front binding is 2 holes back from the nose and my back foot is only 1 hole from the tail. I do this because it's most similar to my snowboard stance for 1 and I spend 85% of the time riding regular so I have my stance in a manor that I feel most comfortbale when riding regular

I'm not saying it has to do anything with how good you are at wakeboarding. Nor did i ever say that. I'm simply saying that the people with the highest post counts generally get more respect. It's a fact. And anyone will be able to see it if they look at people's posts.

Airprofile, the way that I mentioned is great for a new rider. Also I noted that it is all about personal preference. Ride however you are comfortable. I set up a snowboard the same way, right foot straight and left foot ducked out a little but I ride right foot forward. I know this is wierd but it is how I am comfortable. I am a pretty decent wakeboarder and snowboarder too. Its all about what feels right.

AirProfile, Thanks for giving me zero credit for my diagram.

Scotta knows his S*it, post count is irrelevant.

360's are not spun with your feet either... You don't even need to "look" for the spin until you start hitting 540+ spins... 360's are all about rope position and letting the boat pull you around... If you spin with your legs you make the rotation look way hucked IMO...

Carry on... I must not know what I'm talking about... I spend too much time online... as a matter of fact a whole 3 posts a day. Man that is post WHORING! Rolling Eyes (Yet you did steal my image interestingly enough...)

Holy crap. Laughing You guys should ride how you want. Move your bindings around and if you don't like it, try moving them somewhere else. If you're having trouble sticking 3's, adjusting your stance 1 inch and your bindings .7 degrees isn't going to make a difference.

thats how my bindings and theyre ducked equally except there definately not as wide as my shoulders and it works great. im not comfy rideing switch but i can do it and its not cuz of the bindings angles cuz im not comfy riding switch on a skateboard either. just move around the bindings til theyre the most comfortable for you, it might be completely different from other people
