hey ive got a question about getting more air. today i was out riding for a few hours and i still cant get w2w. im riding an i/o w/ trim as far up as it will go im just gettin pulled with a ski eye on the back and i've tried speeds from 18 to 25 mph and im pretty sure my edging is damn near as good as its gonna get. i can usually get 3/4 to 4/5 across and even when i charge in as hard as i can i can't seem to get it so i just started working on basic grabs and spins and i hate to think thats where im gonna have to stop. so jw would a tower or pylon or some fat sacs help? and also i'd really appriciate any tips for getting just a little more air
thanks |

you don't need a pylon or tower. you shouldn't have to charge as hard as you can to get w2w, so i'm not trying to be mean or anything, but it sounds like your edging could improve. just keep working at it. i had trouble getting w2w at first too. just remember to look at towards the shore rather than at the other wake, keep the rope low, and practice. good luck. _________________

no offense or anything but every one who has told me i dont need a pylon or tower already has one. now your riding level is prolly much higher than mine and you prolly know what ur talking about but i just find it a little hard to believe that a pylon wouldnt give you more distance or hangtime. in the mean time im gonna keep practicing nad im prolly gonna look into a pylon b/c they're not too expensive and i really wanna see if there is a difference. if anyone has any other tips or advice on a certain pylon post something please
thanks again |

you can get a pylon if you have the money. no problem with that. i don't have a tower or pylon. but i ride behind my friends boat and he has a tower. oh and i didn't say that a pylon wouldn't give you more hangtime. it will. but you don't need one to go w2w. you can still do it without. _________________

He's saying that you shouldn't NEED a pylon or tower to w2w... just make sure you're standing tall w/ progressive edge and handle is at your hips. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/galen96 |

...and don't bend the knees when you hit the wake. Yes, a tower will always help get better hangtime. _________________ WARNING! NooB status means that anything I might say is absolute total crap. |

Yes a tower or pylon does give you more air time and makes it a little easier to go w2w, but I only put a pyylon on my boat this season. Before I was riding just fine off the ski hook. If youre having trouble w2w, simply shorten the rope till the wake is thinner. Work on your progressive edge and let the edge pop you off the wake. Youll feel it when you get it right. Then let the rope back out a few feet at a time till you can go bigger. _________________ Long Island, NY & Canada Lake, NY (addirondacks)
