I wish I had a pic of it but I cut out on my toes and ollied a no wake buoy similar to that last one but it was probably 3ft-3 1/2 high. I didn't clear it by much but I got over it.

I think it's a speed and technique thing, cut and ollie rather than just let the boat pull you I think.
I can get enough to 180, but not quite enough to grab convincingly........yet.

Would you mind explaining your technique for all of us to learn?
Thanks

it's just practice. I rock back onto my back foot, lift my front foot and jump off my back foot as high as I can. The more you work on it the better you'll get.

to ollie , what I do is put a little pressure on my front foot , and then shift the weight and pressure to my back foot in one sweeping motion. works pretty well for me.

| Just cut out on your heels hard to gain speed then kinda push down against the water with your front foot then jump. When you do the little pump with your front foot it helps so much. I dunno why. But look at most pros ollie something and they do the same.

Two reasons that I can think of:
1. Ollying on a wakeboard is kind of like making a little water ramp for yourself and the deeper you can sink the board, the taller your "ramp" will be. By pumping your front foot a little, the board rises in the water so that when you push down, it sinks a little deeper before popping up. It's just like if you wanted to dive down to the bottom of a pool. You'd usually start by kicking up out of the water and letting gravity give you a head start against your own buoyancy.
2. Because shifting forward on your nose allows a bit of slack in the line and that little bit of slack allows you more time to sink your board before the tension pops you back out.

Yeah, it can be. it took me awhile to get any real height on my ollies. for the longest time I wasn't pushing down first then popping it. Now that i do that its way easier. I would say it's a combo of both.

When you ollie do u cut and press down and jump and pull up with the other foot... or do you go straight and ollie? do u do it while your on an edge? or with alot of tension in the rope? a quick explination of how to do the ollie would make my day

nitewake, The faster you're moving the more you stay on top of the water. So I cut out hard to the side, then level off (lay the board back flat/not on edge) I pump a little (rock forward a little then back) then rock forward again and rock back onto my back foot, pulling my front foot off the water and jumping off my back foot in one fluid motion (kind of like a skateboard ollie). When I do the ollie there's usually some slack on the rope because I just cut out to the side hard so no there shouldn't be a lot of tension.
