I threw an attempt Saturday and I'm regular footed, I launched and ended up landing on my left butt cheek/lower back. There weren't any experienced riders in the boat that could tell me what I did wrong, but based on my landing, I'm thinking I probably didn't get enough height to get it all the way around and came up short on my butt.

Anyone have some suggestions?

Here's how I'm trying to approach them: come in with a reasonably aggressive cut, ease off the edge a bit just before the wake, dump my weight on my front foot, and keep my handle in tight. Of course I have to throw a bunch more before I get all these facets down - hence coming up short last time.

Can you do a ts frontroll? I'd advise learning that first if you can't do it. I see a lot of people who can do scarecrows but they're just hucked around and don't look very good. So I think it would be worth it to learn the front first to avoid the 'ugly scarecrow'. If you think you're not getting enough height, you're probably just not getting your timing right. Just keep trying them and work on waiting until you get to the top of the wake to pop, and try to pop straight up. Work on big ts jumps as well, it helps you practice taking off right off the top of the wake.

I haven't tried a ts front. How should I approach that one?

same way as a scarecrow, except on take off, let go with your back hand like a tantrum, and sorta hunch forward like a front flip on a trampoline

Hey - Do the scarecrow first, it's easier to work on the takeoff that way. My suggestion would be to stop thinking about letting off at the wake. I pretty much just edge up to it and let the impact of the wake buck me. Think about a semi-aggressive edge and hitting the wake with some line tension.

For me take a long cut.. super wide give er with a steady hard edge let off a bit as you hit the trough. Pop straight up with yer body like yer standing straight up, in pictures it looks like I'm trying to go straight up and my whole whole body is vertical. Then I go over the handle like a front roll and wait till you see sky agian before you pass the handle for the 180 to your switch hip. if you have a hard time and keep landing on yer ass a one hand landing might get you around a bit quicker and will give you a better feeling until u get it dialed.

This worked for me so its just a suggestion. I landed this on my thrid try because my front rolls were like elephants Smile

Ps. When yer coming around for the landing make sure you spot the landing and keep yer head up.. Look down go down Very Happy

all i can say: edge in good all the way through the wake, at the top, lower your back shoulder and then throw your front shoulder away from te boat like you would a FS 180. do it on the trampoline. drop the back, throw the front away.
