What can you do?

Alright people.... I just need to vent for a quick minute. I'm sick of people asking this question when you say "yeah, i wakeboard." It really doesn't matter what you can do on a board. I could care less. I know kids who can do some crazy tricks and i know people who can barely get out of the water. It's all about attitude. If your one of those people who need's to ask others what they can do, I really don't have interest in taking you out on the boat with me. I'm more interested in how much fun your having wakeboarding and if your having a good time on the water. I walked into a board shop the other day, and the first thing this guy asked me was"hey, what can you do?" He proceeded to tell me about his friend who was sponsered in florida and all the stuff his sponsered friend could do. You know what, I dont care. And because of this guy, I will never return to that shop and i will never buy a board from them. This sport isn't about competition or what tricks you can do, its about spending time on the water with your friends and meeting new people and introducing them to this wonderful sport. So im just asking you to think before you ask someone what tricks they can do...Maybe I'm just a little salty because i have no skills, but i do have a ton of fun on the water and enjoy introducing new people to the sport. Therefore, I think im on the right track... Can't wait until it warms up around here so I can take some people out on the lake for some good times.

Another one I get from people at school when them find out I wakeboard is "Are you any good?" After I tell them I suck at it (the truth), they ALWAYS say "Can you do any flips?"

I've heard that exact same sequence of questions at least 15 times... Crazy Eyes

hey guys i know where your coming from but i get the "You're a girl though" "girls can wakeboard?" that is by far one of the most annoying things ever.

haha kim, i have never gottin that one cuz im a girl, i get this alot "whats wakeboarding" and then like 2 weeks later, everyone who knows i wakeboard, comes up to me and tells me they saw some little kid (froggy soven) on the disney channel, and then they say "are you better then him" and my reply is......"NOPE"

well, i have asked that question b4 not because i really care, but just becasue it would be cool to ride with sombody good(which i am not) every once in a while, it could be pretty helpful sometimes ya know

I get that same reply alot "what's wakeboarding" so many more people at my school know what it is now. NOw I have a bunch of people that want me to take them at on the water this summer just so they can try it. The funny thing about this though is that we are a lake town.

I hate the ? are U any good? Who cares as long as U are with youre friends and having fun that's all that matters.Anyne living in GA. that wants to ride and dosent give a rip about who can do what is welcome to chill wit me.

yeah i know what you are all talking about. there are some kids that don't really board and they ask me this question all the time. are you as good as this kid? i respond i don't know. because i really don't care what this kid is doing. yeah he is good and it is good to ride with other good riders but i don't worry who is the best and who can do what. i just love to ride and try to improve my riding and learn more tricks.

The biggest sport at my school is wakeboarding. so everyone knows what it is but the "what can u do?" question comes up a lot. they are always competing to see who's best. i really love it when kids in my homeroom overhear me talking about it and then all of sudden its "hey are you pro?" "you know danny harf used to go here?" "he's pro" "he's really good" "are you really good" "are any girls any good" and the best one i've ever heard, "hey kim, i read in the paper that womens wakeboarding is so boring their getting rid of it" Rolling Eyes

i'm in orlando at bishop moore and it was a guy that said that to me. I thought it was ridiculous too.

o ok, im down south more...i figured a guy, was he blonde, lol, thats just a stupid remark to make, form anyone, in my opinion

o ya, i remembered another thing i cant do that i like...any air trick to blind, i can do some, but not to blind, and also with grabs, thats hard too (raley, backrolls, etc)

yeah i love blind tricks but i'm miserable at them. i'm getting help this week though. Very Happy
