That is definatly not pulling you down unless its like attached below the prop. lol. Get a progressvie edge stand tall and have the rope at your hips and you should be flying.

Does this affect getting up? becuase wit a tower i'd imagine that when getting up it "pulls" you up but wit mine the rope goes down so it wont really pull you donw will it it will jus pull you along? so for beginners wit it be harder to get up?

Yes it is easier to get up with a tower but plenty easy without one.

yo TomOgorman, iv'e been riding for 3 years with out a tower yes i've riden with a tower and it is a lot nice and can do just a little more but ur not even ready for tricks that can't be done with out a tower, i can do w2w 360's, spins, grabs, etc off a boat with no tower and i even saw a friend on my lake land a flip

yes a tower is much nicer but it is not needed at all and know you are not getting pulled down just lean back a little more and speed up the boat then if ur being pulled down u want to be gliding on the water

If your getting pulled down (i.e. head first forward) when you jump its because you're not keeping the handle at your hips. Also having a stretchy ski rope can add to this problem.

If the nose of your board is digging into the wake, the problem isnt with your rope at all. The problem is within your technique. Keep your weight back... Try riding with one hand and go from there. Another trick we use with our newer riders is to just edge in and start to really edge hard at the end and drop the handle and pop off the wake without it. Believe it or not, you should be going wake to wake just like that.

Remember, quick hard edge, build up the most speed at the end, and then right before you hit the wake, stand tall. You are probally going to fall a few times, but it is all about timing. Within this weekend or whenever you ride again, you should be clearing your wake.

bighitbiker3 and the rest of you. Jeez shut up. Yes, the rope does pull you down. But not how he's talking about. Genarally the idea of a tower is to have the rope higher than you are, because when the rope is lower and you jump you get less hang time because the rope pulls down.

ANYWAY, back to the question. you don't need a tower to get air. it's very possible to get big air w/o one.

and AirProfile, there's no trick that you absolutely have to have a tower to do. any trick can be done w/o a tower.

I dont have a tower either, and i can get fairly good air, you just have to practice your timing on jumping the wake, if you get it perfect, you will get some nice air. I was amazed.
