Well first off your going to want to get comfortable just riding around, switch and regular. Then work on your ollies a bit. Then the first trick would be a shuv most likely.
Frontside or backside.. some people do backside easier while others do frontside easier. You can look at my little video of me for a backside shuv, which is what i like more because they are easier to pop and catch.
The video is here: http://photos.wakeboarder.com/showphoto.php?photo=10000&cat=500&ppuser=2899
The key to backside shuvs is a good ollie. If you have time you can easily pop the board and catch it before it even touches the water. Just start like a ollie but right as you leave the water you "shove" the board back with your back foot, which will make it rotate. You really just have to go out and try this to get the feel for it. When the board finishes rotating the 180 just stomp your feet on it and hold on tight! Sometimes you can pull off a sketchy one even if your feet aren't on the board right if you just hold on. Try to focus on keeping the board underneath you when you pop it, or else the board will go off and you won't be able to stick it.
More tips for the backside shuv are here on wakeskating.com (You can also get a lot of wakeskating information there):

For the fs shuv it's pretty much all the same. These tend to be harder to pop IMO. You want to do all the same things except when you are in the air insead of kicking your back foot backward, you want to kick it more forward. This is sort of a scooping motion to keep the board under you. Focus on catching the board after the 180 it will do and you will ride it away. And the wakeskating.com tip for the fs shuv is here:

Good luck! |

colefooter, do you ride finless?
Do you need to reposition your feet alot? For the surface tricks it seems you would need to be centered on the skate, but then for ollies and shuvs, aren't your feet positioned further back? Thanks.
Nice video too |

wawakechic, yeah I do ride finless I reposition my feet sometimes, mainly centered on the skate though, when i go farther back on the skate it soemtimes it messes me up for some reason, though that's how i normally do my 360 shuvs. |
