I have been waitin till i can ride for ages and be comfortable with my riding before i was going to start some surface tricks this weeknd. However i want to try wake jumps as well this weekend and the problem is there isnt enough time to try both so i wondering what you would try first?

Also what is the best way to do a switch and whats the difference between a surface 180 and a switch?

Thanks in advance

A surface 180 is exactly that. Switch is riding switch or with your goofy foot forward. I ride right foot forward, so when I’m left foot forward, that is riding switch.

I do surface 180’s whenever the board is neutral or loose enough too. If you are on edge or weight is not evenly distributed the board will not be loose. If you slightly rotate your hips and the board feels as if it will slide without much resistance, you can do a surface 180. If the board is not loose, pucker up cause you’ll be kissing the water soon.

I was jumping the wake before doiong surface tricks. Im not sure whats better to do first, but doing surface tricks has to be done sometime, i never did them for awhile and i regret it because it keeps you from doing a lot of tricks. Riding switch i would do after or while your jumping the wake.
