Delivery on 03 SAN Team Edition in 2 days (will post pics). After break in how is it best to weight it. How much front, back ect? If this is on another thread please link it, I could not find one.

You can fit two big locker sacs on top of the back tanks in the compartments. The twin 250# fat buddies fit perfect. Then just drop a big sac across the bow, maybe a 750# sac, you can get them cheap through http://www.gethighsports.com.

You will have to go at least 22-23 to keep good form, but you can weight the crap out of that boat and it will just keep getting bigger and better.

I'm gonna use the factory tanks at first and see how much I need to add to it before I commit to buying sacs or lead. I know I will end up adding some, just not sure how much and where yet.

The bow needs major weight, v-drives sit back, you have engine weight plus the factory ballast in the back, the wake will be steep and hard as a rock until you add ample weight to the bow.

Jim M, those are the traits I'm looking for in my wake... I like a steep wake that is firm. I ride boards with lots of rocker so the steep part is not a problem. I like going up and over, not out in the flats. That's why I prefer Nautique wakes to Mastercrafts because the wake on a Nautique is more steep. I don't see a problem in the wake being firm, I don't like slicing through itlike it was Jello.

Those are the traits I prefer in a wake too, so let me rephrase- I think its 'way too steep and way too firm' without counterweight in the bow to give it a true transition. You better have a very strong front knee b/c its going to have its work cut out. Its very normal to add counter-weight to the bow, it helps the form of the wake so much. And you won't lose the appeal of the SAN steepness, it will make it bigger and it will bring the swells out a little bit more so its will be much easier to time hitting the wake.

You will know what to do once you try a few different scenarios, first thing you can try without extra ballast is just to send everyone onboard to the bow and observers seat and see what it does to the wake. Try that mid-set so you can see the contrast.

Here is a pic with about 2000lbs and 2 people. For your 2003, about another 1000lbs, evenly distributed, and the factory ballast will really help! About 300-400lbs should be in the bow. The pic is a ways off, due to my crappy camera, and doesn't do it much justice. It is super firm and gets bigger and bigger as you add more weight.

David Fletcher, core-rider, Internal Ballast 820lbs. We add a 350lb sac up front. 1 100lb tracktor weight (Rhino Lined) under very front seat. 180lbs of sand back on each wedge tank (5 bucks for a 60lb bag at home depot) (360 lb total), and another 100lbs tractor weight (Rhino Lined) behind drive seat (we move as needed). . With this set up the wake is hugh. I'll post a pic when i get home.

I'm starting with the factory Team ballast, 820 in the rear and 300 in the belly tank. I want a minimal amount of dead weight (sand bags lead weights) I would like it all to be removeable. I'm gonna add maybe another 50-100 lbs. in the bow depending on how much the second battery weights, and then I'm gonna try and add some kind of sac on top of each rear tank. That is gonna be the hard part since they are angled.

I don't want the biggest wake possible just to say I have a big wake. I want a good shaped, firm, steep wake without varying form the factory setup too much.

core-rider, Question isn't the total factory ballast 820, 520 w/wedge tanks and 300 belly

We went with the sand bags because of the angled wedge tanks. Ill get some good pics tomorrow, the one i have is shisty

Ummm, I hope not... Crying or Very sad I thought it was 820 and then another 300 with the belly, I could be wrong though.

Nope I just read through my 03 brocher (SP) and it says, "Your choise of rear ballast includes flat tanks for 410 lbs. or the pros' favorite of the 520 pound wedge tanks." "Whether solo or coupled with the 300 lbs. center tank..."
