I ride behind a Malibu Wakesetter at about 20-22 mph and I've been boarding for a while now and I still can't clear the wake... (yes I know pathetic but don't laugh). I do however jump pretty well and I get some hight. I was maybe wondering if my jump height and distance has to do with my boat speed. If not is it just a matter of charging the wake BTW(balls to the wall)???

okay, so i just wrote a refined one page explanation on the technique of jumping the wake. then i accidentally hit the back button on my mouse and when i returned to the thread all my writing was gone, so here it is simply put.
Do this and you'll get maximum height/distance going wake to wake.
1) Progressive Edge - Your cut should become exponentially more aggressive as yoiu near the wake.
2) Edge through the wake - Don't let off your edge as you ride up the wake, cut harder if anything. This will make for maximum speed/tension when launching off the wake.
3) Stand tall - Be strong off the wake, don't let it bounce your stance around when you're being kicked into the air. For maximum pop, stand tall by extending your legs as you're riding up the wake.
One last note: a Malibu Wakesetter has a pretty massive, steep wake I'd imagine. This will make it more difficult to learn to go wake to wake because it is more difficult to control yourself when you're getting kicked up into the air so hard. It's just like if you're snowboarding you probably wouldn't want to try your first jump off a 6 foot kicker followed by a 50 foot gap. So just get the balls to charge it and don't let go Laughing You'll get there.

So, is it better to keep both hands on the handle doing wake to wake, for some reason about half the time i am letting go with my trailing hand. Its like I am not air aware. Should I just tie my trailing hand to the handle.
