I would say the HS backroll, if you can properly jump the wake you should be able to do the backroll. The only difference is head position. When you rise up the wake, throw your head toward the tail of your board, Similar to holding a phone to your shoulder.

nah a tantrum is a backflip, a backroll if done textbook is more of a cartwheel, but most backrolls end up being more of a sort of front flip called a mexi roll

exactly from wake physics

and no, a backroll is more like a reverse cartwheel

Enzoborder230 You caught me, that is a pretty informative instructional manual. I would suggest it to anyone.

hyperlyte, when you approach the wake you basically let the rotation of your body follow the same ramp of the wake. throw your upper body to the tail end of your board, keep the rope near your waist for a fast rotation.

just look back, and throw everything over your shoulder and hang on to the rope! if you can clear the wake with good pop, then this shouldnt be a problem.

Any tips for me,

I can jump w/w and land in the flats but I can't even get about halfway through the backroll. I end up landing on my side, shoulder or head.

Plz help

keep all your weight shifting towards the back of the board and let the board ride up the wake and keep the rotation that it would naturally follow..right after you hit the wake it'll look like this:

stand tall at the bottom of the tranny like you would for a normal wakejump, only, you will be edging away from the boat and looking over your lead shoulder. make sure you edge all the way through the wake or else you will not get any pop. keep the handle low and close to your body. if this is your first time going inverted, you will probably get all disorientated and it will be hard to spot your landing, but keep trying and you will eventualy be able to see through teh whole trick. hope this helps
