From what I gather, the X-Star will remain the same other than some graphic stuff.
X-2 will become the V-Ride of the MC brand. Bare bones try to hit a lower price.
X-1 is the new 21ftish pickle fork wake boat.

Again, this may be rumor but I heard it from a somewhat reliable source..

Okay, okay...

Here is what I'm allowed to say. Laughing

The X-1 is the price point v-drive, with an MSRP pretty much the same as the previous X-2. It will come with fewer options than the current X-2, things such as board racks and KGB ballast will be optional. Don't have much info, however the press photo looks somewhat like the older X-5/Sportstar hull. Of course most are hoping they keep the 205V hull (me included).

The new X-2 is a mini X-Star. Don't bother asking because we won't know until after the dealer meet (just for the record, there are no pictures/specs of the new X-2 on the dealer link)

All but the X-1 will be available with the '05 style graphics. They will be called the "old school" design. The new "Backside" will be optional. The X-45 will be available with a design called "Slider" ontop of the Backside and Old School designs.

X-30 and X-45 will be available with a twin-screw, like the X-80 STS.

"Sources" also say PCM motors will be available in '06, however I highly doubt this, and I have not seen it in writing.

Twin screw, gel coat, ballast flushers, hydraulic steering, etc will be some of the new options.

while looking at boats on boattraderonline, I came across this. I don't know if this is REALLY the '06 Xstar, but it could be. I am posting this because anyone can see it on boattrader. So can anyone verify if this really is the '06 X Star?

Funny. Thats the same response people had when they started the big oval graphic that everyone copied.

Great boat, but I personally think the graphics are pretty bad.
The plus of those grapics are A- nobody will copy it, and B- at least it is not tribal.

The graphics are the reason that the SAN TE is my favorite looking boat. I'd most likely go w/ a naked boat if I had the chance.

Bruky, didn't MC sell the X5 hull to SVFARA?

I'm sick of every one getting hard-ons over stuff like this. Just wait until the freaking boat comes out...that way you won't get blue balls after all the hype and then the let down.

Chicago MC,
Is the black and silver x-star that ocassionaly sits on rawson bridge road in cary/port barrington one of yours?
That is one of the nicest looking boats I have ever seen.

Chicago MC, so the X-1 is guaranteed to be the 205V hull? Doesn't say anything anywhere.

wtf? did MC decide to funnel money from their "lets make a cool graphic" fund to yet another ad campaign (maybe this time for figure skating)? i mean, that 06 graphic looks EXACTLY like the HL Roam graphic scheme. nice one MC...real nice.

Sorry folks, but X-Stars aren't being marketed towards people like us. They sold out last year, so for '06 they're back in action with a 7% price increase, and aimed towards the guy who just wants to show everyone how much money he has.

scott a, don't know about the people that walk into the shop you work at, but MAYBE 2-3 people that have bought X-Stars at our shop had previous experience wakeboarding. It's a sad truth, it's even worse when you get into boats such as the X-45.

Reverse towers and tribal graphics sell Malibus, while pickleforks, cnc milled towers, yellow guages, crazy scribble graphics, and tons of chrome and billet sell Mastercrafts. People on these forums think very differently than 99% of the people buying new wake boats. Companies such as Nautique aren't as flashy. They're pricey boats, just like their competition, but they don't have heated seats, and all the bling the MC and Bu's have. They also sell less boats.

Not saying any of the mentioned companies are bad for adding bling, any wakeboarder can deal with the chrome and billet here and there, it's just not what's going to sell a boat to anyone frequently exposed to these forums.

Hey, when I originally posted this forum, I wanted to know if anyone had seen the new x2. Texas MC told me about the new x2 (or whatever the new number is going to be) because he knew i was torn between the x2 and xstar this summer. I wanted the wake of the x2, but my wife liked the room in the star. We both like flashy, but we are not showing how much money we have. Hell, we are a fireman and teacher family. We just like to bling like the next guy. Any new wakeboat offers everything needed to have family fun and rip, it just is worth a few dollars a month more to bling to me. That's all. I'm just the sucker who they are looking for probably. LOL

We sold it to a friend of ours. It is pretty sick.

That's my understanding. They are already in production of the '06 X1s, and they are supposed to be the X2 hull with new graphics and some less expensive options. I'll see if I can find a picture.

I think for every person that doesn't like it, there are plenty of folks that love it. I love the boat for pretty much everything, but I actually prefer the X2 wake to ride behind. The X-Star wake is awesome, though.

The new X-2(Baby X) is going to be a 20 footer with a pickle fork bow. There really aren't any pictures of it yet. I haven't seen any anyways.

I do think it is unpractical to pay that kind of money for a wakeboard boat, and to have another 7% increase is just insane Shocked

I am sorry but "inpractical" and "new wakeboard boat" belong together like white on rice.

Practical = buy old wake/ski boat and fix it up to suit your needs.

inpractical = $80K for boat, tower, trailer and big sticker for back of H2 Window that says __________ Boats.

If I was selling new boats, I personally would add all the bling needed to grab the rich dudes attention at the boat show.
Hell if I had that kinda scratch I would still buy an old one and fix it up, but thats just me.

We all picked jsut about the most expensive sport for our hobby anyways, there will always be the people coming in with the high dollar rigs no matter what, look how much $$$ I have, doesnt matter if I can ride or not, cuz look at the wheels, "still spinnin ni%%a they are still spinnin" as Chris Rock would say.

Just buy an X1 or X2 and on your trailer license plate frame have it say "My Other Boat Is An X-Star"

Not all wakeboard boats are 80$....my 03 x2 cost me 35 grand new, and since boats arent cheap to begin with, thats a pretty good price on a 20 foot boat with that kind of engine. A new 21 foot outrage from boston whaler starts at 28 thousand and only goes up from there. Not everyone who buys a wake boat buys a 2006 xstar

410fortune, or you could buy the $80k boat, and tow with a $20k truck. You're not to say what's practical and what's not. I don't want to deal with someone else's problem buying an "old boat and fixing it up". That sounds impractical to me.

This entire thread is in the wrong forum, anyways.

410fortune,

Nothing really fun is "practicle" anyway.

I really like the red with the plain X1 graphic. To me, that looks classy, classic, and cool at the same time.
