PostPosted: Jul 09, 2005 5:11 pm    Post subject: move bindings to learn switch? Reply with quote

Ive been wakeboarding 3 times for about and hour or so each time. I can get up and ride fairly well but apparently i need to learn how to learn to ride switch sooner better than later. My rear binding is set all the way back and perfectly straight, the front one is one hole from all the way back and turned one hole from as far as it will turn. riding my way (goofy) is easy with this set up, but it sounds like it will be almost impossible to ride switch(regular). do i need to move the bindings or wait until later to learn switch or what?

you want the bindings spread out comfortablly how ever far u want them from eachother, next you want your bindings to be stanced out about 10 more degrees so you want your feet pointing out not in (don't put it out to much it puts a lot of strain on your knees + mcl

You want your board to be symetercial, if you have them shifted to far towards the tail it will be hard to ride switch

I moved the bindings around, they are comfortably apart and turned outward a little. I have ridden sinec the change but i'll tell ya how it went when i do. One more thing, when learning to ride switch do i 180 from normal stance or get up switch to begin with?

Keep your board symetrical so when your just riding around and do a 180 and land the other foot forward your not thrown off by a messed up stance.

you can do either... when i'm going to ride switch i either get up switch or i do a boardslide on the wake and then hop off into switch because i think it feels cool. do whatever you like Wink

For me the easiest way is to do a 180 ollie or a surface 180. Try those too and see what works best for you with your current skills.
