im a noob thats learning to jump w2w and do all the begginner moves. i probably wont tell the difference between a $50 and $500 board (what is the difference anyways) so basically i need a board and bindings for under $200.

how important are good bindings? they range anywhere from $20 used ones to $400 new ones, so what is the big difference. is it imporant for me to find decent bindings or can i just buy the next set of $20 used ones that comes on ebay?

also the board, what are some good names that make boards for cheap for begginners? ive heard hydroslide, and also that they are bad quality, so does cheap always go hand in hand with bad quality.

im also thinking of selling at the end of the year, so something with good resale value would definitely be a plus.

thank you

Get good bindings. LF Evo/elements for $300. That will keep you happy for a while.

local shop has a CWB blade 122 with comp bindings for $200. its an 04 and in perfect condition used. the bindings fit very snug, almost too snug, but well enough for me to fit for a month. (im only using them for the next month) the board is much shorter than the internet calculater suggested for me (130-135) im 5' 5" 115 lbs so im basically maxing out the board.

it seems like a good deal however and i think i could get $120-$150 next year from selling it assuming i dont break it.

should i?

the cheap ones are pretty much always bad quality. You need good bindings for sure. you will also tell a big difference between a 50 board and a 500 dollar board. i suggest going in the middle somewhere

I'm a newbie too and found a new 2004 Hyperlite Motive (140) with split bindings for 205 shipped. I think it's a great begginer board with good size fins to hold the water while i learn technique. I found it on the buy/sell forums.

check here and at wakeboardingmag.com's forums. There's usually something fairly cheap.

The motive is a great beginner board for cheap too. My bro has one and I like to ride it sometimes. It is also very well built.
