Im having trouble cutting toeside and i need to in order to get any jump on the wake. I can go about as far as possible heel side but only about ten feet out from the wake on toeside. Do i want to turn the board so much that my back is facing the boat? I havent done so yet but should i lean over as far forward over my feet as i can? it always feels like i might fall but should i just push it? if im turning hard and my back is to the boat, am i holding on with one hand or with the rope coming somewhat around my side so that i can hold on with both hands? Thanks for any help and any other advice you think might be vital to quickly learning wakeboarding and all the tricks.

What kind of board do you have? We had the same preoblem on my old hydroslide. I just got a new board and it solved all that. It doesn't take much, just turn the board anout 30-45 degrees and put a bit of pressure on yoyur toes. Alot of pressure will just push the board out from under you.

I just got my new hyperlite motive a couple days ago. ive been out twice and am really liking it. im under control and have been able to pull off a couple surface tricks, such as a 180, butterslide, and ollie but know that the toeslide and edge to the toeside is essential to get the pop on the wake.

You probably need more weight over your front foot, to get more of the board in the water. And take a hard cut as you go out, giving yourself more time to level out and drift.

When cutting toeside (out from the wake) you need to have the handle on your front hip. If you have the handle buy your belly button it is really hard to cut.

To get out there toeside, put handle on front hip, arch your back, point your belly-button to the sky and lean away from the boat (NOT over your toes). your waist should not be bent over toes, it shoul dbe arching your back

you'll fly out there. once i got this down im now able to get out 90 degrees to the boat, just like heelside.

working on: I don't know, so happy I just landed backroll!
