Hey guys...
I haven't had a chance to get out too much this summer and today i got out but it was extremely choppy and on top of that we could get the wake working to well. Ive got a Sea Ray 210 i/o with no weight in it, and im just wondering what i can do to get a nice angled slope instead of the washed one i have now.
BTW its washed at all speeds so speeding up doesnt help. i usually ride around 21 MPH
thanks for your help _________________ Wake Forest University |

| Have you tried trimming the drive up, or using a shorter rope. Thats works for my boat. |

| TRIM TRIM TRIM, if its choppy, you wont be able to trim to much without porpusing, but if take your rope to 60' max you should have a crisp kicker. gR. |

thanks to Ballywho in another topic i read that trimming up makes the wake steep ( which is why i never liked trimming up) but trimming up and weighting the bow makes a nice wake, so i think my problem is solved for now. _________________ Wake Forest University |

You're not supposed to drive with the trim all the way down. It's harder on the engine anyway. _________________ PS- this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Trim it to 3/4 and ride a bit faster and you will be fine. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

trim 3/4, fat sacs in ski locker, shorter rope and as many friends in the bow as possible all seem to help the wake and work best in smooth water with my I/O
does anyone else with an I/O have a really, really wide wake? I have pulled the rope into 55-60' but it's still really wide... |

I have a 19' Maxum...not sure of width, would have to look @ specs, but it's not as wide as a lot of boats. When I compare mine to other wakes, the size is pretty good (with trim up slightly and fat sacs) but it jets out quickly and is therefore very wide at any point you ride (55'+). Any way to make it more narrow (aside from going really fast?) here's a comparison:

| I guess drawing it didn't work. I was trying to say others stay narrow for awhile and then widen vs. mine that jets out and gets wide quickly. |

i/o's will have a wider wake than wake-specific boats or ski boats. i dont know why this happens but the wake is also wide on my parent's reinell i/o.
on my parents 19 foot runabout we have two fat sacs. one in the ski locker and one on the floor in the bow. it makes a decent wake but still nothing that can compare to a ski boat. the whole idea is to get as much weight as far forward as possible so you can trim up and still keep the nose down. this will drive more of the boat into the water and in theory make a bigger wake. now the only problem is getting a good shape out of that wake, and i/o's sometimes dont have the best shape. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

| i have the same problem and i trimmed up and now my wake is huge. i bet my wake is bigger than most wakeboard boats but it still has white wash and it is shaped that well. |

I have a 20 foot bayliner i/o and with the right trim the right length rope and the right speed the wake is perfect
shortened my rope from 70ft to 55-60 that helped me get w2w
trim up 3/4 sounds about right
the wake gets wider as the boat goes slower..faster = thiner,
find the comfortable speed, trim, rope length _________________ Great South Bay |
