Okay so i have been boarding now for like 2 summers and am pretty dece. I can do 3s pretty easily and can get some big air but i want to learn an invert. I was thinking either a tantrum or backroll would be good. Which one is better to learn as a first invert or is there a better one to try than those? Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks.

How is your ts? As long as you can clear the wake ts and do 180s your set for a hs invert pretty much.

You can't go wrong with a tantrum or a backroll. I personally learned a backroll first.. which seemed like it took forever but after i landed it, i landed a tantrum on my second try. If I were you I would go out and try both of those inverts. Then whichever one you get closer to landing, work on that one. It seems like once you get that first invert landed the next few come very easily. Good luck!

I learned a backroll first too. I think it is a good first invert because there isn't as much of a scare factor. You can see the water almost all the way through the trick and as long as you have a solid progressive edge you want have any problem learning it.

Yes, backroll are much easier than 3's. Handle pass spins are pretty technical and take some time to get down.

intotheflats, dang, i guess all that handle spin training on the trampoline helped out cuz i landed a 360 (backside too) on my second try. Backside seems more comfortable to me than frontside. I guess i learn things in reverse, i still can't do an invert. this summer i'll get one though.

My advice would be to try the tantrum first. I started with the backroll and that took me quite some time, however the tantrum i stuck rather quickly.

Just give them both a try and see which one you think is more easier. It is very personal.

good luck !!
