well first off DO NOT let your front edge weather it be your front tip back tip or toeside/heelside edge get dug into the water or you will get a whiplash, faceplant that is painful...second i would highly suggest you try in calm water becasue if its choppy and you arent experienced you might accidently get an edge dug in.. third when you actually want to do the slide just whip your back fot foreward and front foot backduring aa cut (if you have snowboarded it is really similar to stopping on your toeside except you must take a little more care in not leaning forward.)
i would also suggst that you can ride switch relaticvely well becasue you may end up doing a 180 and then if you dont know how to ride switch or are not stable you will probagbly fall....
good luck and sorry if any of this is confusing...feel free to PM or IM me with any questions or if any of this doesent make sense

| you got it right man. just cut out hard heelside, then whipe your back foot out. Make sure you lean back. After time your back foot will go further and further and yhoull master the trick. just cut out pretty hard and far heelside so then you have the line tention to start the power slide. |
