| Right now i dont have a tower or pylon, im getting the most of what i have. But last week once i went out, i thought i did good with out having a tower or pylon. But i think the one thing that im doing wrong is im not keeping the handle tucked in and im not keeping it by my waist. |

Read the trick tips on progressive edge. Why does everyone ask 'do you have a pylon or tower'. Do you think you can just drop a grand and 'buy some air'? It helps a little, but what you need to do is practice edging!
A good way to work on your edge and get the feeling of the pop is to cut in from about 5 feet outside the wake, if you have a good edge you should really be able to clear the other wake from there. I ride on my friend's crappy outboard with no pylon sometimes and can get up in the air no problem. I'm saying this because I hate when people get discouraged and think they can't do any tricks just because they don't own an wakeboard boat. Just have fun and work on that progressive edge, sooner or later it'll all come together. |

| ok i went out today, and i got a lil more air than last time. But i still only get 3-4 feet. I take a progressive edge, keep the handle in and by my waist, or even lower, a stand tall at the wake, but i still cant get much air. I dont know if its becuase i dont have a tower or pylon, but i cant figure it out. |

Practice practice practice. One way to be more successful (sp) would be to start harder. Still do a progrssive edge but start the edge harder so you develope more speed. It works for me.

| where exactly do i stand tall and lock my knees, before i hit the wake, or once im at the very top. I get confused because some people say stand tall before you hit the wake, and some people say stand tall at the very last second. Which one is it?????? |

1)SET your angle early 2) HOLD the same angle throughout the cut by bending your knees 3) DROP your handle to your lead hip (this makes you gain even more speed before you pop off the wake) 4) STAND TALL as you hit the top of the wake!!!. The fourth step is the MOST important.
Its just like jumping on a trampoline... if you are jumping with someone and you want to get shoot up in the air you straighten out your legs so you absorb all of the momentum and shoot straight up; if you bend your knees you don't get anywhere. The key is your timing and standing tall. You have to do it at the last second to get the most pop off the wake. |

I may be new at wakeboarding, but that sounds like the antiprogressive-edge to me.
Wakeboarder.com A progressive edge is when you edge on your wakeboard and build up the amount of edge slowly, so that your maximum edge is when you reack the top of the wake |

| For me, I had to go for clearing the wake first. Actually, I'm still working on my switch riding. I have a long way to go. It's all about having fun. Riding on your weak side just isn't a whole lot of fun at first. You just have to force yourself to do it. Just make yourself get up switch a few times during each session. Try a couple of wake jumps while riding switch. Mix it up. Keep it fun. |

| Your right about forcing your self to do it, i just started riding switch about a month ago, and I accidently did it. i didnt want to do it because it would be like starting over again once im just getting good. But now im a lot better at riding switch and ready to start jumping the wake. |

GOING BIG WITH PARKS BONIFAY:
"The first thing you will need to do is get out about 18 to 20 feet from the wake. You will then start a slow progressive cut back towards the wake. Build your cut up harder and harder as you get closer. This will, in turn, apply more pressure to your line. Hold your edge all the way up the wake. As you near the top begin to straighten your legs out. With your legs straight and the rope low and near your waist you will began to pop off the wake. Be sure to keep your head up and look ahead so you can spot your landing. On your way down be sure to absorb the landing well so you don’t slip out."

early this year i rode at a higher speed and had trouble getting really good kick off the wake. now, i slowed down that speed a little for a bigger wake, and also it makes it easier to time your 'standing tall' motion so that you can get maximum kick by hitting that sweet spot in the wake. _________________ signatures are lame |
