| I am curious to find out if anyone has riden this lake and what is it like? Based on the topo map on the web appears to be decent size and fairly deep. Curious to know does it get crazy crowded on the weekends etc. I keep my boat about two hours from home and cannot always make it to the lake so I am considering pulling it home so I could ride at West Branch which is only about an hour away but if this lake sucks I do not want to deal with the headache of pulling the boat home. |

I have never ridden at west branch but I ride up on lake erie all the time. I have heard of people riding the berlin res. though. I hear it is really crowded on weekends but nice during the week _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

| i'm from the portage lakes area and i used to go out to west branch all the time but now i keep my boat on lake erie. if you can get on the water early at west branch or anywhere on the weekend youll be in good shape but after 12 you better just have a tube or something. |

Where do you ride on Erie? I only have a 20' open bow type boat so I would not really be hip to using it on Erie. Is West Branch the best inland lake to ride at within an hour of Cleveland? |

| our boat is out of Copper-kettle which is between lorain and vermillion. Berlin and West Branch are pretty much the best for close to cleveland but if you don't mind the drive, pretty far south of canton is salt fork. it's about 2 hours for you and they have camping and all that other stuff too. it's a very large lake where you can find a small area back in a corner and spend hours there. salt fork too gets busy on the weekend but if you can find a map of it online. http://www.placesohio.com/ohio-state-parks/saltfork/map.html that may help to get an idea of what i'm talkin about. |
